Best Camera in the World?

'The best camera is one that fits in your pocket,' is certainly a valid argument. Today’s smart phones fit the bill and are the most widely used cameras. You always have one with you, they allow for instant capturing and sharing, have in-camera editing abilities, shoot 4K video and slow motion, have different shooting modes, they can accept lenses and can be mounted to spotting scopes. Short of print quality imagery, smart phones can and do capture it all.

I primarily use my iPhone to capture vertical behind-the-scenes Instagram Story clips and wildlife footage with the use of a Phone Skope mounted to a spotting scope. It goes with me on every hunt. It doesn’t replace my DSLR or Mirrorless cameras, but it does allow me to capture different things and share on different platforms. Below are hunting images either captured with an iPhone or showing an iPhone in use.

In the video realm, Apple just released an advertisement titled, ’Don’t Mess with Mother’ that was all shot on an iPhone XS. Clips are from around the world of some of the craziest occurrences in nature. Sure, they use underwater housings and attached lenses which isn’t exactly ‘pocketable’, but they still prove the point.
